The file tells a story. Its origins tell another.

WHAT WE EXAMINE

Origins, processing & interpretation

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

Reproducible technical findings

THE INVESTIGATIVE SCOPE

Preserve the material. Interrogate the method.

A screenshot, an export and an original dataset answer different questions. Our review makes the route from acquired material to reported finding clear enough to examine and, where possible, reproduce.

01

What is the actual source?

Identify the supplied evidence object, its format, known provenance and the relationship between originals and derived copies.

02

What changed during processing?

Review extraction reports, conversion steps, filtering rules and other material transformations within the agreed scope.

03

What is missing from the picture?

Compare available material with the questions under review. Flag gaps, context loss and dependencies that affect interpretation.

04

Do the records support the proposed link?

Correlate relevant communications, documents and events while separating observed links from analytical assumptions.

THE PURPOSE

A finding should survive the journey back to its source.

HOW AN INSTRUCTION BEGINS

The BALANCE-7 approach
01 / DEFINE

The question
comes first.

We clarify the material issue, available records, authority and jurisdictions before proposing the work.

02 / EXAMINE

Evidence meets
independent scrutiny.

The agreed workstreams connect sources, test reasoning and identify what remains unresolved.

03 / REPORT

Findings return
to their sources.

Counsel receives a scoped record of the analysis, supporting exhibits and material limitations.

BEFORE YOU INSTRUCT

Clear questions.
Straight answers.

Can you work with a large disclosure set?+

Scope and feasibility are assessed against formats, volumes, access conditions and the decisions counsel needs to make. A phased review can prioritise the most material questions.

Can I send devices or upload files here?+

Please begin with a neutral enquiry. Evidence transfer, device handling and access permissions are arranged separately after acceptance and scoping.

Will every recovered item be treated as authentic?+

No. Origin, integrity and context require their own assessment. The report identifies the checks performed and the limits of any authenticity conclusion.

Acquisition and analysis use lawfully supplied or authorised material. Device work and specialist validation are scoped to the relevant technical competence.
